semiotician at heart?
He was semiotician at heart, but his heart was outside of human bodies.
Did Vygotsky really get all his ideas from the French or Shpet in Russia,
or........??
Nope, Luria would notice that.
Did Leontiev elaborate or distort LSV's ideas?
Elaborate.
Was Vygotksy a Marxist? Always, never, only when forced to act like one?
Of course he was a Marxist. Always.
Do Americans routinely mis-interpret both LSV and activity theory in general
and in that connection create false histories?
No doubt about.
btw, nice collection is here

Date: 2007-09-29 05:02 am (UTC)но не могу удержаться и не высказать недоумение - странный жанр для академического интервью: "А правда, что Выготский на самом деле думал ... ?" :))

It was distorting elaboration

It depends of what Marxism do you mean. And what Vygotsky.

Date: 2007-09-30 08:37 pm (UTC)i disagree. there are multiple reasons behind my statement. latest one is the statement of yaroshevsky in the movie we've talked about.
yaroshevsky said that he was not aware who vygotsy was being a student of rubinshtein. he went to xarkov and met leontiev for first time in 1962 (have to recheck that). first phrase leontiev said to him was - "u know, they wouldn't shake my hands at vygotsky's funeral". yaroshevsky said that he didn't payed mych attention to that statement. but combine this stsatement with ur recent reflection on Teacher's role and responsibilities. vygotsky did not fail.
It depends of what Marxism do you mean. And what Vygotsky.
again there are many things to say, but latest text i have read was unpublished unfinished and semiprivate work 'конкретная психология", where 'ан ansamble of human relationships' is an authoritive point.

Date: 2007-10-01 05:42 am (UTC)Б.З.
